safe to use Energizer e2 Lithium batteries in 405 nm eBay lasers?

So my 405 nm laser "pointer" from eBay is due to arrive soon. This made me wonder: is it safe to use Energizer e2 Lithium in these lasers?

Back when Wicked Lasers was a lot more popular, there were many reports of Pulsar diodes being blown due to the higher voltage of lithium batteries. Is this something that can affect the 405 nm lasers, or am I clear to use lithium e2's in them? If it's the latter case, can I expect an output boost? :)

I asume those are 1.5V a piece? So it's perfectly fine. I use a 10440 and a spacer on my pens.

Which pointer did you get? My eBay 405's take 2xAAA's and the other eBay 405 takes one larger sure fire odd size...

Should say the voltage on the battery as far as I know. But as long as it's 1.5V ish it will be fine :)

Just make sure they aren't 3V each then it will be 6V and will probably kill it pretty quick...

They are 1.7V nominal, but as high as 1.9V with no load. Even so, this is a boost driver so this voltage is adequate.

Are you saying the eBay lasers have a boost driver and can safely accept these voltages?

FYI the 3 ebay 405's I tested were all about 60mw, two were 2xAAA models and one was a large sure fire rechargeable single cell.

i wouldnt think those cheap can handle the higher volt but i could be wrong, im using regular 1,2v rechargebles and its very bright for a cheap 3,5$laser.
