I want share with you the true 5mW 405 nm laser I have received today. The laser seems to be true low power laser. I know it is not good to take a direct hit from any laser; however, I'm willing to use this laser as a proximity sensor. I have a photo detector that detects only 405 nm making it possible for creating laser distance sensor. I'm currently printing an encloser for the sensor and the laser on my 3D printer :). Direct exposure to the beam is highly possible in such application. Some members suggested that a 1mW red laser will be much safer but it is not unique  I refused to wear safety glasses in my robotics lab when measuring the rpm with laser tachometer, I told my professor, I will never wear safety glasses for < 5mW lasers :umbrella:

405nm 5mW Mini Laser Module 8x13mm, AixiZ

Power: < 5mW
Wavelength: 405 nm
Operating Voltage: from 5 to 6V ( 5V seems safer)

This is not a review. This is a thread notifying the internet that you purchased a device followed by a brief regurgitation of specifications.

A review is a critical evaluation of a product. You haven't addressed ANY of the questions you could have asked of it.
What is the beam diameter?
What is the beam divergence?
Is there a focal range?
What is the wavelength?
What is the drive current?
What is the temperature rise?
What is the output power?
What is the output power variation?
What driver is used?
What was the shipping time?
Was the packaging adequate?
What is the range of voltage input that results in current regulation?
What driver topology is used?

Is it a wafer or a standard package diode?
Is is press fit or clamped by the module?
What type of lens does it have?
