Quastion about building a blu-ray laser

Hey.
So if I take this diode:
PHR-803T HD-DVD laser lens with violet laser diode blu-ray [M0033] - $8.99 : Modwerx Shop
And an rkcter (or however they call this guy) driver, with about 6 or more V how much mA can I set the driver to knowing that I have a decent CPU heatsink?

Also, because of the GIGANTIC heatsink I was thinking of having it not portable.
What do I need to do for it to connect to the wall?

about how many mA can you set.. you should do a little research here on the forum.. don't be lazy .. it is there!

if you want to connect it to a wall outlet.. say 110V or 220V depending on where you live.. you need a transformer say 110V/220V to 6V or 12V .. also you need a rectifier to make a DC current.. a filter capacitor for the noise etc ect...

or you can use a power adapter say 6V that goes with a some sort of jack you can make a connection with it and connect it to the driver's input instead of using batteries....

anyway you need a stable power supply from main's current to a 6V or somewhere there... do some research there are many options...

now, how much current do you think I can push it to?
and is the driver good for this diode?
also, will it give me burning power? sorry for being lazy but I looked at the forum alot and nothing I found really gave my a straight answer.

the driver you have is rkcstr/microdrive i think i don't know which version there are a few of these ...

I've never used this driver but 6V might be not enough ..
you need 2.25V above the laser diode forward voltage...
7.5V or 9V will be ok

these diodes you want to use shouldn't be pushed above 120mA!
and yes you will have a burning power
remember to wear your googles (if you have any)

make a test load first to accurately set the current!

next time do more research .. all you needed to know is here.. and most guys
here won't approve your questions because they were discussed here a lot

I know I should make a test load,
I learned that from my red build.
now, I want a powerful blue\violet laser and I think 120mA is not enogh. also, because it's not portable and I have a massiv heatsink I thoght I should get more power.
1. Do you have any blue diode (cheap and not from a DLP projector) that you recommend that I can push at least 400mA? I was hoping to get like.. over 500mW of blue
2. Ummm the rkcstr driver that I have is no longer for sale, sorry about the bothering but do you have any suggentions for a good micro driver that has a pot and a LD+ and LD- outputs?

You can get brand new for almost the same price

I don't get what you really want - a blue or violet one?
Which wavelength?

Cheap? For some people cheap is 50 bucks...
for some it's expensive...
You can't really get a more powerful violet or blue for under 40-50 bucks..

Of course you can wait a couple of years they will get cheaper

Do some research for a driver.. Check the Drivers Section of the forum..
