Sincerely investigate any of these three short quotes as new concepts and you've taken your first step into a larger world:

"I regard consciousness as fundamental. I regard matter as derivative from consciousness..." - Max Planck. "Everything we call real is made of things that cannot be regarded as real" - Neils Bohr. "What we call physical things and events do not exist independently of subjective experience..." - Deepak Chopra.

Each of these three rabbit holes go deep, ending up in the same place.

No, they don't emit UV light.

Multimode doesn't mean they are lasing at multiple wavelengths (Although, there will be a couple of wavelengths some fraction of a nanometer apart).

Not sure where you got the idea that they'd emit UV.

All of the diodes we use emit the wavelength they say they do and no appreciable amount of any other wavelength.

I am sure there are threads with the same answering another, making comments agreeing or disagreeing.... I've seen some appear legit by asking about buying something from a member, as if legit, then backing out saying they bought from some other source to cover their tracks. I've almost had enough of it, about ready to take a long nap fellows.

I think what you're thinking about is steel wool.
That stuff works a trick for coherent beams!

On another note I think it's probably the same dude from the banana peels thread.

Default Re: Possible Dangers of Blue and Violet Lasers?

Seems we are having a lot of posts lately about how dangerous lasers are, whether unfocused IR, blue or violet wavelength etc... Even a 5 mw laser pointer can harm your vision if you stare at it long enough without blinking, nothing new. Seems more like trolling to me than serious questions, to ask that question you probably already know blue and UV have their own unique hazards though, due to the wavelength. Asking if whether a 405nm laser pointer produces UV after just having stated they knew UV starts at 400nm and shorter seems a give away it is a troll right there.

Tanning with a 405nm laser will give you spotty results and take forever. I suggest you tan after the Gym but before you do the laundry. And do not use a laser during any of this.

Default Re: Possible Dangers of Blue and Violet Lasers?

I'm waiting for a sock attack if this guy gets miffed, but right now I think he is building reps in preparation for it. CrazLaser, forgive me, but so far I have thought you might actually be one of this guys puppets, I mean, if he is going to choose a persona here, a high school student etc. is perfect, easier to feel for them if they are not treated right. It's just the name you choose, too close to CrazyJay, there are other new members here who also make me wonder, Jhop, might also be completely innocent of such but "J" hop reminds me of Crazy Jay hoping around with different member names. OK, I said it, I won't reference that again with you two guys, but anymore I don't take anything for granted in forums, not until I have seen more verified interactions. It is sad a guy has so much time on his hands to play games, that his world revolves around righting the wrong he believes happened to him in the forum, but I understand, if you don't have a life outside of the internet, that is where you go, whether positive or negative interactions, it is still some kind of interaction with people.

I too have put too much time into hanging around this forum, should probably cool it and concentrate on real life more.

Really, the only dangers you'll find associated with visible light is near the 400nm portion of it, and even then, if you exercise proper caution 405nm lasers are perfectly safe. You won't get sunburned by having a 405nm laser hit your skin for an instant!

Anything below 350nm is where you should start to get paranoid if the beam hits you.

Moto154, I think you should do a little "about me" intro. Member's seem to be 50-50 on to your true identity, plus not sure because your not replying, could be your weary because of the reply's to this thread and would hate to see your truly trying to learn
