OK so I am kinda at a loose end and I need some help.

I want to build a high power 405nm pointer, main requirement TO HAVE A LONG ON TIME ideally 10 mins !!! And I'd like to keep power as high as possible at the same time.

Can you guys help recommend a good host with big heatsink and a driver that can handle I am guessing a S06J 12X diode for long time.

Also saw this driver in the UK which looked ok [UK DRIVER]

Well you could use a sAik or mag-light build with either a foulmist or a x-boost driver... the mag- build would be a 2-C or a 2-D sized build with either a x-driver or any buck style/liner driver.

Check my sig for some ideas... there are many drivers for and host combos, you just need to compilate a build plan. Welcome to the forum.

Holy mother of hosts DJNY I think that might be just what I am looking for. How do you think the heat capacity compares to the spartan or even the artic?

Just remember that although foulmist's driver is one of the best buck/boost there is, it is not suitable for high power 405nm because the Vf on the diode will be >6V. 6V is pushing foulmist's driver IC to the limit. But as jander stated Xboost, benboost, elasti-drive, cutsom linear driver or a buck driver would be your other choices.

If you want the best, I'd ask mcrmouse to machine a copper sink for you. I know he's looking to get some copper but needs more people than just me to be interested in a customized copper sink :)

If he could get a microboost from flamin that would be ideal.
