Does anyone know if it is possible to replace the lens or lens assembly in the 400mw o-like bluray with a 405-g-1?
Why would you want to anyway? There is already a glass lens in there, a 405 g may not give it any boost in power.
Hope this helps
Not kidding as we really don't know what lens is in there and there is also some loss with the external (coated for 660nm) waterproof glass lens.
If the OP cared about "max power", they would ask if the external glass lens can be removed as well.
The way the laser is designed, the lens does already sit very close to the diode when it's screwed together completely. Perhaps I will try this and take LPM readings when I get some time and a spare 405 G-1.
I know its a different laser but my 1 watt o-like 445 came with a arcrylic lens
Is the lens that it came with your 1W 445 this lens from their website?
405NM LASER /445NM LASER COLLIMATION LENS/GLASSES LENS
I doubt if its even a glass lens. I know its a different laser but my 1 watt o-like 445 came with a arcrylic lens (that i replaced with aixiz glass), so if they used arcrylic in a 1 watt 445 it wouldn't surprise me one bit if they used the same in a 400 mw 405.
Before I bought mine, I sent Susie a message. I asked her if this one had a glass lens installed; she said they do.
After I removed it, I burned into the lens with a soldering iron. So I am positive, that mine came with a arcrylic lens. Maybe they made a mistake assembling mine, I really don't know but it did come with a arcrylic lens assy.
So, did you end up putting a G-1 in it? I would do that with mine if I knew it would work.
