Maybe some one should design a custom diode heat sinc, little rings with fins that fit snug around a diode. You would have problems because it wouldn't fin in an axiz but it solves the can heat problem by adding more surface area directly connected to the diode.

I think I'll keep it at 110mA and just shorten the run times
