It's this new thing callled Christmas,not many people have cought onto it yet.

I'm still pretty new to it myself.

Ok, so here's the bad news..

The diode is not real... :( It's UNREAL!!! :eek:


I started real slow, but this baby just won't stop! ;D

I did not find a kink yet! The blurbs in the graph are me changing the range on the meter! ;D

It's a straight line, right up to 220mA, which is where i stopped. The power at that point was 230mW. That is 230mW after a PLASTIC LENS!!! Don't yet know how much the raw output is. Still need to test with glass. But i would estimate it to be around 283mW after the custom glass lens, if i judge by a 6x. The raw output is of course even higher than that!


Also, the beam is ROUNDish! :eek:

This is either a really good 6x, or a completelly new diode, possibly even better than a 6x!

Look at the forward voltage! It takes 150mA, just to get to 5V!

Igor will drive it harder,a and harder until it reaches it's first "kink" as he calls it.

It may have been a virgin diode when he started... ;)
