Custom copper heat sink and focus piece from Flaminpyro.
BDR-209 and driver from DTR.
647mw output and it only took 3 years from start to finnish.
Thanks to Flaminpyro and DTR.
If you need any custom parts, I highly recommend FP he does great work and DTR is just great to do business with.

UPDATE I changed out the focus cone for a ring and the power jumped to 647mw. So I should have had Jeff make the hole bigger.

Good looking laser! Looks like you're ready to do some probing.
I agree with you, Flaminpyro does some great work.

Dang, how did you manage to build it in such a short period of time?

3 years isn't so bad. I haven't built a laser in more than a year and a half and I still never posted a build thread with the photos from my last build.

Your power output is the same as my S06J 12X 405nm, are you using a 3 element lens? Or just not overdriving it?

Have fun and don't accidentally set something on fire.

Hi,
Nice looking build would go good wth a 44, 47 ,06 ,41, 05t ETC.. Great sinking for heat .. Enjoy.

Yes I'm using a 3 element lens, but I'm not sure where Jordan set it.
It's pulling 1.2 amps at the tail cap. I don't know what that may work out to, I'll have to defer that to someone with more experience.

I will say there's no reason to limit yourself with a 3 element with this diode unless you can't afford a G lens.

I was going for beam quality, but now that I have it I think I will put a G2 in it.
Sort of wish I had done so to start with.
Good to see your still here Pete.

Unlike the multi mode 445 diodes this single mode tiny emitter likes the G2 best. They are a lot stronger than they look and the divergence is tight so be careful.

1.2amps at the tail cap is what's going into the driver at est. 3.85 volts....anyway 4 watts into the driver that's 90% efficient?

I know the SXD is around 95% but the flex is a boost so it will be less.

Anyway a 7 watt nubm44 takes 23 watts in to put 7 watts out, so the diode is much less than 50% efficient.

Anyway you will have est.....850mw with a G2 and 625mw with a 3 element.

405 G2 sounds familiar.

I know the G1 was also in the mix but I think you may be right.
