Why not just build your own 12x 700 mW 405nm DIY laser? Cmon guys you both have the skills do build one yourselves for much cheaper ;)
Seems like a nice host though.

I got mine a few days ago seemed to work pretty well but just now as I was LPMing it it started to flicker..... This is with fully charged batteries. It did reach 441mW if that is any consolation before it started flickering.

Not happy... Any suggestions?

No real suggestions, but was considering a purchase of one of these as well. Seems from reading posts that O-like has good customer service, perhaps a quick email to Suzie (?), I think thats her name, might help out.

There have been a number of posts regarding the O-likes not having foam support for the battery spring, but not sure of the model.

I was curious if yours has it or not ?

There is no foam at all you can look down the barrel and see the driver board easily. Nothing looks to be glued in place or anything. Tempted to just tear it apart and replace the driver and diode.

I like the waterproof host but I don't see many folks using them.

I'm still a noob, but was thinking the size might be ok for a 400mW unit, although I've seen posts about how the duty cycle would necessarily be low for 1000mW units. No clue about how good the heat sinks work in these.

Good luck with O-like, I'm guessing they will treat you well and replace it.

I love the host. It quickly became my favorite laser. I noticed that the heat sink itself is rather small and looks to be made from brass. It is threaded into the host and the driver is directly pressed into it. I can't imagine the duty cycles being very good for a 1W laser. I was thinking 400mW 405nm wouldn't be too bad though because of the reduced power.

I actually have a 250mW red one on the way I liked it so much. Hopefully that one doesn't have problems too but what are the odds of getting 2 lemons. I am no good at making lemonaid.

Yeah I hear ya.

Post back on what response O-like gives you, seems they are a stand up vendor, but I'm going to hold off for now. $100 is $100.

Susie has told me to ship the laser back to then as she doesn't know what's wrong without looking at ii
of course she didn't mention what's going to happen after they receive it.

Currently after testing a different battery the laser now produces a solid yet extremely dim spot with color aberrations. Guessing it is LED now.

I unscrewed the pill and looked inside there is a solder missing on the driver.........

I hope they treat you right. They should just send a replacement with a return postage for your broken one, and worry about troubleshooting after they correct the situation.

Shipping can really shake things up, if the solder was bad, thats a good recipe for failure.
