Hi all, Happy New Year.
My BDR-205 came in the mail the other day and that 12X LD has been begging me to build it a new home. I wanted to do something different. It seems just about everything that can be done to a round host has been done. The pics. will explain the rest of this story.
Some "highlights"
1) check out the battery...free from old cell phone. Just pop it back into the phone to recharge it. I know you all have a few of these lay'n around.

2) Its running a flex V @ 560ma. I have no idea how long the batt. lasts yet.

3) Milling those Dove tail slides to fit like this was a pain in the a$$ (no cnc here) Try to find the seams along the sides !

4) To turn "on" you slide the top back.

5) The lever @ the front is to adjust the beam. It only requires about 90* from burn to point. And it does BURN!
Nice to a new member to the family portrait (last pic)

I absolutely love it.:gj:
Funny you should post this, since I just built a rectangular burning laser

That is certainly a one-of-a-kind build! and it's looks great to boot!
I'm always excited when machinists show up. Especially with the ingenuity you've shown on that build, I can't wait to see what the future holds. Unfortunately for you, you've set the bar too high on yourself too soon :D
