POST 405... aint it sweet :D

This laser has traveled A LOT! It was originally built by the master photonist himself Daguin. It was the 405 that was included in the box that KRNAZNBOY bought and was completely scammed on. Fortunately the 405(which he and i had discussed before the sale) was not in nearly as bad shape as everything else. Matt was even nice enough to polish it before sending it to me. When i received it, it was putting out ~450mw with a 3-element lens. I switched that out for an o-like lens and got a little under 600mw. I thought the 3-element was the problem, but upon closer inspection the diode window itself was pretty haggard. So i put on my big boy pants and got to work cleaning the diode window with a q-tip and a tiny amount of isopropyl And hazah! i got just over 700mw. This laser is my second favorite behind my Sinner square one LTE with a sm 450 in it. Enough about this lasers history... on to pictures of its laser present!

Nice and shiny

IRL there is no such bloom, this dot is as SM as it gets, burned the wall a little bit

Pic next to my LTE 450

BEAMSHOTS!

Sorry about my camera... Thanks for looking!

Nice host! Makes me want to check my diode windows. Sure is nice to get such a big power increase from something so minor.

Very nice. That raw output must have looked hideous.

Lucky! I was PM'ing him about buying it, and as i was about to send the confirmation message, he told me that you got it. I only hate you a little bit though :D

I wish there were more of those original kryton hosts around....

@ track yeah it had a a few big "bubbles" and with the 3 element, with the focus set to make a 1 foot diameter dot about 6 feet away, the middle of the spot had no laser light. It looked like a big purple doughnut. Fog is rolling in now :D beam shots coming in no time!
@ crazuspaz Sorry crazyspaz! We(Krnaznboy and i) had actually decided to split payment on the box o stuff because i wanted just this laser from it, then things took a bad turn. Luckily i believe he was able to recoup his losses through thrifty building.

HAHA just realized i even posted this response @ 405 :p

The outside beamshots looks more like 445nm... nice host and pics!:p

Yea different cameras pick up laser-light differently. It's pretty weird :p My camera raises blu-ray 405nm to the 430nm range when viewed on my computer.

Some cameras are just great for capturing lasers, and some are crap. It't pretty touch-and-go. Just got to get lucky.

I have the powershot SX40 - i'm such a camera noob. :p

Mine is a Nikon D5000 and it's very good for showing the real colors of the lasers, but everytime catch them X2 brighter or so... I just tried with 532nm and 650nm.

yeah iphone4 cameras are not the best with 405... they only really pick up green differences well.
