I love these little baby 1 x AA Ultrafire C3 hosts they are so cute..
I bought the host off eBay, The heatsink and focus adapter came from Moh (think I he closed up shop before it arrived).
EDIT: Rayfoss sent the replacement sled to compensate me for the PHR in the original sled. Unfortunately it was also a "fake" S06J. The sleds were marked as "Manufacturer Refurbished" and had the blue dot on the diode as in the BDR-S06J group buy thread. Stay away from Rayfoss.
I am feeding it with about 115mA using the original Cree driver that came with the unit. It was putting around 350mA into the white LED, so i looked up the data sheet & started mucking around with resistors, turns out the ones already in it worked fine with the higher diode voltage drop. It's driving about 95mA at 1.5V and 120mA at 4.2V. I have tested it up to 7.2V (2 x 14250's or 1/2 size AA's) and the driver only gets warm at 7.2V after a minute or so.
I am very pleased with this, hope you enjoy it:
Host and supplied case:
Fits nice in the hand:
Fluorescing a yellow highlighter:
Obligatory beamshots. The first two are from my daughters Samsung - it seems to capture the colour better. The last is from my Canon A720:
