I posted this under Blu-Ray - purple because this is mainly what I wanted to use it for, I got it from Gary from SL and couldn't be happier :) so thanks to SL. Kinda sucks because due to great Stability of 405nm diodes every time I shine it on the meter it never really stops, it just starts to slow dramatically then creep up a number every second or so, so by the time my Duty cycle is up I have to shut it off :( but this is what I got after about 90 seconds :D
The 556mw is what it used to be. A 245mw increase!! So this looks about right because I'm using a 530mah driver not 600. Maybe I'll take it apart and put a 600mah in there and hopefully get close to a Watt! :D

How's the beam spec compare? Did you have a three element before?

Yes I was using a 3 element before, it actually looks to be almost the same, the dot on the wall 15 feet away looks almost the same as the 3E lens. This could also be because 405s usually have very low Divergence as it is, since I put it on my Oclaro and it was absolutely horrible.

Your 405nm is a good choice for the G-2 lens, with its minimal divergance and increased output, there isn't a better choice IMO. :)

Richie,
have you tried the G2 on your PLTB450 yet? On mine there is no need for any other lens as that diode is great for a multi mode..Still don't get why its not used more?

Glad to see you have tried something new, Richie. That's how you learn in this hobby. You'll find the aspherical single element lenses are useful for more than just the 405nm single mode diodes. Even if you are going to use cylindrical lenses to correct for the terrible divergence of many multi-mode diodes, the single element aspherical lenses are still your best choice. :D

Yes I definitely agree, I have been wanting to get one for a long time, so glad I did. So are the G2 lens's from DTR the same or a tad different?

Yup, with the G2 and a nicely added Radiation sticker from you :)

Yeah I actually put it on my pltb450b also to test on meter and it soared to 2000mw and stopped, too bad my Hyperion maxes to 2 watts so I don't have an accurate rating for it yet :(
Also looks like the Divergence is still not too bad on the 450B, even with the G2 :D

Couldn't say, Richie. I don't have any G-2 lenses from SL. I have many single element aspherical lenses, though. I do have DTR's G-2 and the ones that came with the 9mm 445nm diodes as well as many others. Just no SL ones.

I think I'll get one from DTR soon so I could see what the difference is, yeah from what I've seen, those Single Element aspherical lenses are pretty sweet.
