IgorT's host just looked so nice that I had to build one, sorry Igor.

I do have an 8x from him reserved for when he finishes his medium project tho:yh:

Anyways, my set up is a PHR set at 120 mA per lava v4.

My heat sink is just a drilled out insert from home depot that cost 99 cents. I'm not even sure what it is used for... I think it just presses into a pipe or something, but it pressed into my host nicely!

I epoxied a nylon washer onto the end of a spring. The spring is the negative contact (case negative) then some wire attaches to the washer for the positive contact. I will try to get some pics of that but trust me the outside looks better.

I used a laser4u 405-G-1/module which worked out good because it was a close match for my drill set at work(still had to file it out a little).

So what do you think?

don't have a LPM yet so don't know my power.

Its using a trustfire 14500 protected battery.

I have a jayrob 405 lens sitting here with all the parts to build 2 other lasers, a GGW then I'm gonna try the BDR-203 8x.

Still need to decide on a host...wish me luck!

Very nice.
Can you post a separate picture of the insert you are using as a heat sink ????
Where did you get the host from??

That insert you used as a heatsink looks like it was made for this application, very nice fit and finish

This is just a spare one I bought. I doubt I can get the inserted one out of my host, but my module is easy to get out with the right tools. It is hollow so I had to use some arctic silver adhesive to help with the heatsinking connection to the module. But it works.

The spring is also in the picture, you can see that the spring makes the negative connection to the heatsink, then I run a small wire between the nylon washer to complete the connections.

Thanks, I spent about a half an hour walking through home depot looking and I was about to just use a washer when my girlfriend saw this whole shelf of these. I found one that fit then bought a few. It is kinda hard to get a nice center hole with a drill press tho, and it took me a few inserts until I was satisfied with one.
