Hi LPF Folks ,

I am pleased to introduce you to my 3rd gem is just born :D
This time I used a torch with a long neck (zoom) , and in the end I blocked it and made the fixed ! inside has 1x26650 3.7 V 5000mAh ,and the module 12x45mm is placed inside of a nice 510 that
I've bought from DTR (the mythical and legendary Jordan).

I hope you enjoy it !

Congrats, now you have a nice 405nm to add to your growing collection!

Looks nice!

What's that holding the heatsink into the host? Looks like hotglue or JB weld...

Thx so much ! i'm glad ! the next it will be (if I can ) a 12W.
Yep , is Hotglue ! now i have print him to black permament

Outstanding work on this one! I have that exact same led cree flashlight host you used. However i still use mine as a flashlight! :) NICE WORK!

That's actually a nice looking finished product. That host set up like that is sharp looking. :gj: A 1 watt 405 is a burner for sure.

If you wouldn't mind me being a little critical. Since you have the ability to 3D print things, think about 3D printing a washer or cover to cover up that hot glue, or better yet have someone machine a heat sink that that module can be pressed into. ( which should increase the duty cycle greatly. Powered by that 26650 that unit could run for hours.) Either way :gj: and keep up the good work. :)

Thank you Bob, but you see the fact is that living in Italy , here is not easy at all to find all those things that are used to build a pointer ! there is a lot more easy as there are many customs here instead of our customs is very strict ! it is true that because of them I have not been able to buy from Jordan ! then the little that I find I find it in Italy ! and I have to settle !

Ah, understand, sorry didn't notice that in that case you've done a fanatic job! You get yourself a  looking forward to your next build. :)

Just a side not, hot glue wouldn't be the best adhesive to use as I'm pretty sure it retains a lot of heat. I'd recommend some Arctic Alumina Thermal Epoxy. It will help a ton more with transferring heat.

Here, take this: Arctic Alumina Thermal Adhesive 5 grams

Thermal epoxy probably won't be great if it's covering such a large volume either (still ... has to be better than hot glue)... Best to have a proper fit and then thermal epoxy to fill in any small gaps/spaces, which will improve heat transfer.

Hey 3D, for machined parts, you could try member Eudamonium, he is also located in Europe (Croatia), and operates "Eudamoniums machine shop".

Since you would be only buying heatsinks and machined parts, customs shouldn't be a big problem.
Check out the link to his shop; he does good work, and has very reasonable prices too!
Many members have bought from him and been very satified with his work. :yh:

I can appreciate that make it work attitude. Question about your customs issue, what did you have shipped? Diode only or 12mm module?
