Which came first? Also, was there one before it? I'm looking for the original widely used blu-ray diode. It's for a project I'm working on now called the "ancestors" project. With the original widely used blu-rays and reds (LPC-815? KESS-400 red?) and original widely used drivers (rckstr?) And would like all original parts. I will also use my two Krytons, since they were some of the original machined hosts among the forums. So basically just making 2 lasers with the most original parts that we used as fodder for this roaring fire that we sit around today, thanks!

As for reds, I have a 4x from I think from the early 2000's. Those are pretty old ones. They run at like 83mA really well. I'm getting about 40mW with mine.

As for old BR's, the Pioneer BDR-101A seems to be the first according to this article found through a quick google search

*EDIT*
Although I feel like your Krytons should be put to better use than antiquated diodes. But hey, they aren't my hosts to decide what to do with. Just make sure this is what you wanna use them for, because once you seal them you don't wanna be indecisive and pull them apart. I'd recommend the Krytons for like a 445nm or 635nm then ind some cheaper but nice looking hosts for the old diodes.
