I just ordered the Wicked Lasers Nano +75mW 405nm laser.

Can anyone tell me what they think of it, does anyone else have one?

Well considering I just bought a 405nm diode from DTR set to 450mA at an output of 700mW, and a 520nm diode from DTR set to 350mA at an output of 110mW, with ebay hosts, I think I'd rather build my own. But y'know, lasers is lasers. I like light and color, not "X is better than Y."

Not attacking you but this is where you are wrong. Lasers are not just lasers. You cant say that ever laser is the same if its a 532nm or 445nm. There are many different diodes, there are different drivers, there is different optics; all which have an impact on quality. WL uses run of the mill diodes, drivers, optics. They are mass produced Chinese junk. Its hit or miss on how they will perform. You may get an overspec stud or you could get the runt of the litter.

They, from what ive seen and know, use LED drivers not laser specific drivers. Using a flashlight driver is like putting a set of used tires on your brand new BMW, its stupid and will fail sooner than later.

Optronics, CNI, LaserBTB, etc... the trusted compnaies, use higher quality parts thus higher quality lasers. Then you have hand built lasers; even higher quality (depending on the builder and parts used)

Jordan picks the best diodes to sell, sells quality LASER drivers. Cant go wrong buying from him (DTR). If you were to buy a diode from jordan and a LED driver from DX then youd be doing the same as WL does. Good parts mixed with unknown. Laser could last you 5 years, could last you 5 min!

BTW keep saying WL since thats the largest company who says they are the best and put all this false advertising out; "worlds most powerful lasers" MY A$$. Rick trent has a 40W laser kit available, so how is a 2W WL the most powerful in the world? It isnt and its false advertising to attract FanBoys.

I am glad to see that you have bought your own laser parts and are building your own. Just because its a 520nm set at xxxmA doesnt mean its going to do 120mW. Those diodes do anywhere from 50mW to 130mW and the ONLY way to tell the power of your laser is on a LPM (laser power meter). you can go this plus this set at this = 1000mW, doesnt work like this.

Again not an attack, just spreading knowledge since it seems you were under the wrong impression

You should try more companies instead of WL.

True but before WL was awesome they had so many green lasers from the weakest at 15mw to over 125 or so now they only have a few.. not much of a choice really.

 *facepalm* there isn't much of a choice other than WL???? Really, well this is news to me. When did all the other laser companies close shop :tinfoil:

And not much has changed with WL........their weakeat is still 15mW and they go up just beyond 125mW at their strongest

You misread, i meant not much on WL compared to most other sites that sells lasers, like i wanna buy a blue one but no way i spend 300$ which is the cheapest there.

Ahhh noe you see the probelm with WL.....over priced for a host. Is a host worth an extra $150? Does it cost them $150 for that host? HECK NO, they prob get the hosts made for like dollars each and r@pe the consumer

If you think wicked's 100% profit margin is excessive, you should look up soft drinks.

But we are talking about a dollar in that case. Idc if it costs 0.01 to make my soda and I pay a buck for it. Not like coke charges a buck and pepsi charges 5 bucks. Thats comparing monkeys to tigers ;)

Why shpuld anyone buy a WL product other than for the host, when they can buy a custom built laser for less money
