Hi guys,

Just finished up building my PHR-803t Dorcy junior build, which is all very exciting.
However, so far I have managed no burning ( haven't tried much either though) and my laser emits a high pitched squeal all the time. What causes this? Problem in soldering?

I'm more concerned about the noise than anything.

The flexidrive is set at 110 mA.

I'll put up some pics later ;D

Did you remove the flashlight's original driver? It is under the black plastic with the hole in it, between the spring and the battery.

Peace,

Correction : I can burn into my wooden desk easily when properly focused. Noise is definitely still there though

Yeah. He missed the step where you remove the original driver.

1) remove the head
2) remove the battery
3) use something to push the driver board and black plastic out the front of the housing
4) discard the electronic disc
5) replace only the black plastic disc that the spring goes through
6) re-assemble the laser.

If the spring is now too short to reach the battery you might have to "stretch" it a bit

Peace,

I'll try that as soon as I get a chance, Dave. Thanks for being so useful around here !

;)

Edit : Works perfectly. No more annoying buzz! +1 !

You may have to re-set your driver, if you used the Dorcy host as your power source when you set it.

Peace,
