Hey guys, been gone for a few months due to work and some other stuff, but im glad to be back into diy lasers

just a few questions, my last laser was a 8x br darkamryofone laser..... which i see he is no longer a member. Any info on that? and if i am interested in upgrading my 8x to a 12 x with my jayrob lense who would be the man for that? Im alos working on a cheap 2x myself but wanna leave the 12 to the pros

Tyler was proven to be a con man and a thief. If your laser is still working AND up to spec, you are a VERY lucky person.

Upgrading from a working 8X to a 12X is NOT worth the time, cost, or trouble. You will "see" no difference and the difference in burning ability is NOT that dramatic.

Now if you actually have a lower powered 6X in your laser like we found some of his 8X's had in them, it might be worth it. However, only a test on an LPM and a look at the rear of the diode in your laser will tell you for sure.

Thanks for the info... sad to see him be that way. I guess I need to check on my diode and see what it actually is. Anyone y'all would recommend for a new build? Quality and trustworthy?

Morgan, Ehgemus (sp), Jayrob....those are just off the top of my head, I don't know if Jayrob actually 'builds' per say more than he makes kits. But the other two are good, I didn't look and see if you're in the US, if so, then Morgan is out of the question, which leaves Ehgemus (again sp) as your best bet =]

alrighty, ill try to find him and get in touch with him..... .FYI ive noticed a lot of incidents lately involving people shining lasers at aircraft, more so than usual at the airports I go to... not sure why.

Im glad this site is around to help educate people about the potential issues it can cause

Probably because more people are getting their hands on em. I first scan the skies for anything that moves, blinks, or anything other than white, and won't shine if there are any nearby. I won't even keep it on when I scan up, I will cover it, then un-cover it to avoid shining people, or cars, etc. Maybe I'm too safe, but whatever.
