I am thinking of buying the WL E3 200mw 405nm violet...

I have seen videos of it popping balloons and lighting matches but also videos of it not doing anything. So I was wondering if I should get the violet cause I heard it burns better because of smaller beam diameter. Or red. Green just got marked up today by 100 bucks

Check out the forum a little. You can build nicer gear for less money, and you don't have to throw money at WL.

I got one of those. It was great, but it was focused to infinity (not user-focusable) so it didn't burn anything without a magnifying glass and it died after 2 weeks. The quality and finish of the host was amazing enough to almost be worth getting, but I've read that many of the lasers have bee defective, so you might end up with a very expensive, shiny metal rod. Also, be ready to wait a few months for your laser to arrive.
