As ndrew said, there are many variables. However, I have a PS3 pointer that is over a year old. I have a PHR based laser (that I use almost every day) that is almost a year old.

The MTBF for most laser diodes is around 5000 hours at their rated amperage... Mind you, we usually run them way higher than their rated amperage, so all bets are off. It would also depend on heatsinking, duty cycle, ambient temperature, optical damage caused by reflections off the lens, relative humidity, dew point, sunspot activity, phases of the moon, and in general, the whims of the laser gods.

Don't forget the position of the solar system in relation to the galaxy. Galactic alignment is very important.

Just a warning though, the alignment will happen in 2012.

So, all our laser diodes will die.....:(

my pointer died and he said it was because i left it on too long
I beived him but now i see all this bad stuff about him.
I lost my computer so I have to create a new account
at the public computer in our center

I dont expect to get my money back but i will sen my complaint to the owner thank you for your responce

It's funny he has to make a point of saying his computer died and that he
is using a public computer.... Like that would make a difference to the
questions or responses...

Have you also noticed that when ever a douche bag opens a 2nd SPY
account... the "new" account member doesn't speak English very well
and his grammar and spelling sucks... a little too obvious...
