Im not usually one to triple post, but here goes.

Anti Static Bands: Yay or nay?
Would it be easier using a AAA host (providing jayrob manufactures heatsinks for it)
Im really looking for the MOST simple way of making a blu ray laser. I know it will require quite a bit of tinkering, but I want the minimum amount.

TBH, Im not too knowledgable in the whole electronics. All I know is what wikipedia can tell me.

Anti-static band? == YES!!!

It is always easier to work with what has been done before and manufactured by someone else.

Minimum involvement = minimum reward

You are not too stupid to learn, are you? There is a whole world outside wikipedia. Most of it is better and more reliable than wikipedia as well. I don't even allow my students to use wikipedia as a source in their assignments. Unfortunately, you have to make an effort to find it. This forum is a prime example. Contained in this forum is the knowledge needed to build virtually any, personal use, laser you desire. However, you have to read through more than the "summary of important concepts" to find it. There are no "bold" or "italics" to "memorize" for the test. There are no "cliff's Notes" in life.

You have to read it all or be limited to what someone else is willing to tell you. If you wait for someone else to tell you what to do, they will rarely tell you that which is best for you. They will tell you to do that which will make them the most profit. So what do you want . . . a cubicle or the corner office? You get to choose.

Peace,
dave

You sound like your a great teacher Daguin ... HWat do you teach?

I am a Professor of Human Communication: public speaking, argumentation, debate, interpersonal communication, inter-cultural communication, persuasion, history of rhetoric, oral interpretation of literature, et al.

The vast majority of classes I teach are public speaking and argumentation. Those are the "lower division" general education classes in my discipline so EVERY undergrad has to take one of them ;) Now that's job security :)

Peace,
dave
