if thats your choice go for it, gotta learn from experiance, however one thing i would tell you is to get a heatsink custom machined for the host you plan to use, if you dnt want to get one from jayrob, flaminpyro makes heatsinks as well, though i belive he charges the same as jayrob. the only way that modwerx heatsink will work is if its for a project box, you wont be able to match it up with a flashlight host. i do like modwerx, they have some nice prices, though i prefer hightechdealz, and keep in mind the batts you want to use, that effects what kind of driver you will need, again i prefer the flexdrive.
word of advice, dont try to skip on stuff to save money, you'll be dissapointed later when it doesnt turn out the way you want.

do some research, if you read rkcstr's thread you'd know the voltage requirements, and if you want your laser to live id get a heatsink, if you dont care if it lives, than dont bother

i have an idea for a heat sink and it really cheap and could save ppl a lot of money if it works.

Ok so here it is: you could use an aluminum bolt or two and put silver paste to secure them together (it's a conductive also). I don't kno if it wrks but if it does i would be happy! anyone willing 2 test?

like i said dont try to skip on stuff to save money, you wont be happy with the result. ive heard of ppl using washers drilled out to fit the module, but i just by heatsinks custom machined for the host, and always will.
good luck with your build, and do some reading on the forum turorials before you start your build.

I dont think you will find heatsinks under 10$ or everyone would already tell you where to find them and more people would probably be using them.
