So here's a build I was working on and finished last week. This is actually a twin to my red Guidesman build that I had Jay machine heat sinks and focus adapters for. It' has a massive heat sink that keeps this laser pretty cool. It barely gets warm after a few minutes of on and off testing.

Specs:

  • Guidesman host
  • Custom linear driver
  • 2 CR123A 3.6V Li-Ion batteries
  • G1 lens @ 827 mW
  • AR coated glass lens @ 602 mW
  • Draws 455 mA at the tail
  • 432 mA to the diode

I'm not too sure, but I'm thinking I got one efficient diode from DTR!

Thanks for looking!

Thanks guys! I'm pondering if I should crank up the current a bit to see how much more mW I could get, but then again I risk killing it. :undecided:

Nice build ! That beefy sink will keep the diode cool.
AR coated glass lens @ 602 mW is efficient. My 12x diode barely reach 400mW at 400mA.

What an outstanding build! I'd say that's killer efficient. My 12X with a G2 at 395mA only put put 520mw. If I could get a couple of these efficient diodes I could finally make the 1.5W labby I have planned.

:thanks: everyone! This has got to be my first efficient diode I've gotten so far! It's gonna be a keeper.

Awesome. Yes that one is a keeper.:D

Average is about 475mW @ 450mA with a three element lens and 700mW @ 450mA with a G-1/2 lens.

Sexy build you got there! I love the heatsink design. Your Guidesmans make a nice pair now! You should take a nice picture of the two lasing :)

+1 For sure!

Thanks! I made a simple sketch on a CAD software and had Jay machine it to my specifications. That's a great idea! I'll post a pic or two of them later on tonight! (PST)

The 635nm really outshines the 405nm and I mean completely overpowers it in terms of brightness!

The 635 puts out around 530 mW using an AR coated acrylic lens.

Those are nice builds man! :gj:

I'm working on your other custom stuff this weekend...

Talk to you soon!
