Is this a good laser?

I found this when browsing the forums...it looks like an excellent deal! Shame it's sold out.

I have a few questions about it:

What else would I need to buy to turn it into a complete laser system?
Will the price stay as low as it is by the time they become available?
How much power would this put out? About 100 mW?
What is the burning power of this laser compared to a 250 mW red?
How far is the beam visible?
Is there any advantage to doing this myself, as compared to buying this preassembled module?

should put out ~80mW it should burn fairly well if it's focused right. the beam is not very visible to most people as it's on the edge of the visible spectrum. it will cost less than half that to do it yourself. or you can probably buy one for ~$40.

Why not contact him.. maybe he'll build one up for you.  It shouldn't be hard for him and maybe he has all the spare parts.  I've ordered from him before so he's legit. In fact, I think he's on this forum.
