what driver a rckstr?
I think so, it can light matches instantly unfocused and burn wood easily and skin at over 10ft focused to a dot under 3mm

What are you driving it at?! Beam visible in daytime?! I can barely see the DOT in the daytime! Maybe it's underpowered (It's supposed to be at 120mA, but I didn't check. I ordered it like that; I guess I can have someone check it for me.) My blu-ray can't sting my skin from any distance (well, okay, it isn't focused. But still...)

Yours can burn wood instantly?
I thought that was reserved for like CO2s and stuff.

idk what it's being driven at for sure and it's visible in a well lit room ;D it smoked my thumb when I put it in the beam at 10ft when I had it focused just right :'( my alpha can burn wood too it just takes a few seconds :D

;D you can see all the optics on my desk I ripped out of the sled. sorry for the semi long video ~25seconds I had to turn it on, focus it with one hand, burn, turn it off :p

as promised a semi better beam shot in a well lit room with no smoke or anything ;D gonna take some shots later with smoke so you can see the difference

Very nice! Can't wait until mine gets done. Nice beamshots, and you probably should get some kind of heatsinking soon...

Super glue washers together that you can get at Home Depot. Make sure the washers fit nicely around the AxiZ module and glue it (or do something to keep it there). Or if you want to get the best you can get a custom made heatsink from Jayrob.

just a though... u could also get different sized washers (outer radius that is) and then put one big and one small, one big, one small.... to get some kind of air cooled heatsink.

like this

(sorry cant post pics yet) lol

i think it works better, but i know it looks cooler...IMO that is.

Looks nice.  I never tire of seeing cool lasers!

As for the heat sink, I've also seen pictures here on the forum of people who just get a chunk of metal and drill a hole for the diode.  Remember, a snug fit is best.  It isn't pretty, but it gets the job done.
