I was reading up on these the other day, as i understood these can be pushed to 200mw, but i also came across a lot of experienced members saying that they aren't as good as they used to be. I am planning on buying a sled from modwerx, but now im afraid of destroying my diode. So whats a safe current for these at the current time? :thanks:

I had one of these in a Kryton Groove and it only lasted a couple hours at a little over that (about 250mw).

I went to a 12x instead. IMHO, most were pushing these beyond what they should just for to hit a specific number (ie: 200mw, etc) and so lots didn't last long.

I'd say spend a few extra bucks and go for the 12x or even some of the 8x or 10x that will last longer and can be pushed more.

So i should keep these at about 150mA?

I just like these because they are cheap. For 25 bucks i get a violet and red diode. I cant find 8x diodes anywhere, does anyone on the forum sell them? 12x are nice but they cost to much, for 50 bucks i rather buy a 445 diode that can be pushed to 2W. But what can 8x and 10x diodes be pushed 2?

Thanks for the info :thanks:
