Ok so I have purchased a Pocket Mini basic kit with a PHR diode from hightechdealz.com and a flexdrive set to 120ma. I have several other lasers as seen in my signature. As soon as I get it built I will do a mini review and post pictures.
Thanks for looking,
Lane

Questions:
I have soldered the leads to the diode and a small drop of solder connected the positive wire to the module case. Will this short the build out or will it have any effect? If it does need to be removed what is the best way to remove solder so close to the diode pin?
EDIT: Does anyone know what to do for soldering iron burns?

Just use an x-acto knife to scrape your wayward solder blob off so it's not making contact with the case. You don't want to put heat on the diode any more than you have to.

As far as the burns.. aloe and time. heh.

/\ I would have suggested the same thing.

Ouch, hope it wasn't bad. I would recommend keeping it covered. I haven't had any bad burns, I just give minor ones time to heal & leave them alone.
