First Blu-ray build done, works incredible

Finished my first but not my last blu-ray build using:
Drlava driver set at 145ma

LikeitBright custom heatsink-Awesome skills and fast shipping +1
Diode/sled thanks to Spyrorocks-fast shipping
Aixiz module/acrylic lense not drilled back out but possible will
$10 dick smith host customised for heatsink and front clicky button on/off
Stickers from andy_con
Energizer Lithium Batts

Awesome violet beam Definatley and easily visible at night

lights a match in seconds/burns any dark rubber/plastic, love the random fluorescence of objects also. ;D

Great/fun project and awesome laser to add to the collection

Yer with this one i just mocked it up and then thought it works to good to change it so i kept it as is.
My next one is based on the Sonar look but smaller and runs of two AA's

i no i asked the question in another thread but is it best to cut the back out of the lense, does it affect the beam, like in width or visibility, or just increase the power "mw" because more light gets through.

It really just increases the amount of light getting through the lens. You cannot really "see" the increase. It is measurable, but usually not visible. The main value of it is that it lets more of the photons out. Fewer photons bouncing around inside the lens housing decreases the amount of photons beating against the front of the diode and "eroding" the face (which leads to COD).

ok no worries, so would be good to do this for a burner. Ive actually just found a thread in the Tutorials section about a thinner beam using the sleds lense,
