Inspired by LKY2009's phasers, I did the same.

2009 ST movie phaser, PHR-803t, LM317 driver, and 2 10440 Li-Ion batteries. Sound works, and has a silent mode. Driver is at 88ma.

Been 2 months of mucking around with lower powered diodes, learning what works and what doesn't. Got it all sorted out, and did the final assembly tonight. Feels good to have a "finished" project.

Done...

WOW, I really like the host. Is the most special and unusual host (in the good meaning lol) I've seen. It's like a laser gun.

Good job!

Very nice looking, congratulations on your build!
It does feel good to see that light come out the end!

Remember that since your aixiz module/diode is not heat-sinked that you can't leave it on for very long periods. Still looks cool and works!

@532 - Despite not being heat-sinked, the aixiz doesn't get warm on a 30-60 second run.

@Antoniio - I bought it from Amazon. It's a Playmates toy Star Trek 2009 Movie phaser. LKY2009 has done a bunch of different phasers and shown them here on LPF. Being a big trekker, I just had to copy one. I have another one to be built, as a gift for my brother.
