Thanks. I knew about taking the highlighter out and swirling it in water, then i saw this video. I never would have thought it would be that easy.

Try Isopropanol (IPA) as well, it will evaporate off at room temperature (although please use in a well ventilated area etc etc etc)

It's also pretty hand safe BUT extremely flammable.

This. Isopropyl is basically that alcoholic handwash that you get in those hygienic gel things - even at the, what, 40% concentration that it's in there it still works for extracting fluorescin (and permanent pen from your shirt!). You just need to leave it a bit longer to evaporate.
