Yes they are motor and rudder only the zero you got is larger then the planes I make its a 1/48 scale has approx 10 Wingspan the zero in my avitar is 1/72 scale and only 6" wingspan I am the only persone making them that small I was hoping plantraco would pick up my designs for the zero, P51, Bf109, FW 190, F6F hellcat and F4U corsair. I am going to send them some pictures and video hopefully they will allow me to sell the design through them. If not I may just open a web site and sell them on my own Just have to find the time to build a good stock and get them flying. at 6" WS its not an easy task to make them fly. you will love the zero you bought it flies very slow.

Talking about planes or 473nm blue lasers? (lol). I'd love to get a nice blue laser for cheap :D

Are those tiny planes RC? I think the receivers for even my smallest RC Heli (450) would be 2-3 times the weight of the whole plane in your hand! LOL

I ordered 2 of those 405nm lasers from this guy on ebay. Do you guys have any more hidden ebay gems for green/red/blue/yellow lasers? A red with a visible beam would be cool, or a 473nm blue would be awesome. I don't suspect we will find one of those for 12$ shipped though. :cryyy:

the plane in my hand is full 2 ch RC it weighs 2.7 grams AUW Sorry for getting off topic I will let it rest here

Did you check the guys site he has green lasers also look in his other auctions I think he also has a few with more power if I remember correctly. for the price he has them at they are a steel for the quality of the product, there well made. I dropped my green laser today off the top of a unit I was working on about 12 feet in the air. I was shocked to find it still working fine little scratched up but it still works.

Do his green ones have IR filters? I suspect the next green I will get is a laserglow 5mW so I can be a little less paranoid with it. A 100-200mW red would be awesome too but I suspect he doesn't have any of those for 5$ on ebay ;) (I couldn't find any of them anyway!).

I got my green from this etimeshop yesterday... And when i compare it to my 5mw greenie (that i think is to spec, according to Jayrob-at least he measured another unit and was in spec) and its also much brighter, and lights up a dark room like a flashlight. beam also good for star pointing, so id say its overspec as well... Just waiting to see if any of the LPM guys gets one.

I got one of these BR pens from etimeshop as my first BR laser. I also bought a custom BR pen (PHR) from matrixcs here on LPF which I received yesterday. Using the custom pen as a reference on my DIY theremometer based laser meter it seems the ebay pen is giving about 50mW. :)

The beam quality looks identical to the PHR based pen from matrixcs do you think the ebay pen uses the same diode? I dont have that many lasers yet and dont want to hack into the ebay pen just yet. ;)

Just got my 405nm pen, great deal, great pen, visible beam in very very dark, terrible divergence, but for 12 bucks it is a great pen.

Hey, guys! I'm new to the forum but have been lurking for a few weeks now while I gather intel for my laser builds. I purchased a couple of these purples and one green from the ebay seller after reading this thread. I must say I am very impressed with the purple but not too impressed with the green.

The purple is very bright and actually does burn my lips if I hold it there for 10 seconds. Starts out warm immediately then increases until I have to take it off and that's from about 8" away. There isn't enough juice to burn anything but if I sharpie a Styrofoam cup with a black spot then hold the beam to it it does discolor where the beam is hitting and shrivels the foam slightly. The beam is readily visible in a dark room and can actually be seen in a lit room if I look along the beam! My office is really bright too! Isn't any less dim so far then it was new. The focus on them is very poor and the dot is actually slightly oval in shape. At 25+ yards the dot is huge compared to the green laser.

The green, on the other hand, is not the same story. Initially it was very bright (put the purple to shame) and the beam was very focused and stayed tight compared to the purple. However it quickly degraded to needing to warm up for a few seconds before getting bright. Now it is to where it is bright for a second or two then drops to a very dim dot than can hardly be seen. We're talking about easily less than 1/2 hour of run time total with less than a minute of duty time at the longest interval and over 5 day's time. Fresh batteries are run as well. Very disappointing. I hope the purples hold up better and so far they are.

Sometimes on the pen hosts the threads oxidizes. Try cleaning the threads with some steel wool. If that does not work, then it could be dying. Greens tend to be less hardy than the Blu-Rays because they are two different types lasers.

My green only liked fresh batteries. I experimented with a lithium at 2.8V, no-go. Finally got the guts to try a li-ion on it, bright green beam pours out the front

I wouldn't recommend it until you've exhausted your other options, as there is always the chance that you might just fry your driver instead, but just lettin ya know about my experience with a cheap greenie.

I bought 2 of these BR pens about 3 weeks ago. They are my first 405nm lasers and I think they are very cool. But I'm not sure mine is up to spec with a lot of other peoples lasers on here. It is bright (cosidering what color it is). The main thing i see on here is people being able to see the beam. I can barely see it at night. And indoors when its dark i can see it. I can see it a little when its light out, but only when its smoky. And it doesn't get warm at all on any body part.

Its still a really cool laser, and i plan on keeping it. It guess others' reviews made it out to be more powerful.

what seller did you buy it from? from doing a little research etime's lasers seem to be the better option to buy from, because the other sellers (motel, hittime, few others) all seem to be <5mW while etimes are mostly all 35mW or greater.

Note to moderator: There is 2 threads on this same pointers. http://laserpointerforums.com/f38/inexpensive-blu-ray-laser-pens-worth-look-46487-4.html Maybe these can be merged as theres great info in both.

Back on Topic.

I got the modual out by useing a dremel and it still works fine. I have the Axis style Lense and was thinking about getting an improved Glass lens pack that has the easier adjustment as mine is out of focus and I am just going to scratch up the stock lense as it sits below flush to get it to work.
Also is there any ready to fit hosts ii can get to transplant this core into that isn't expensive. Something like a glorified pointer.

I bought mine from etimeshop. If i knew someone with a meter, or someone with another BR laser to compare it to then I could at least compare them.

Our eyes see the beam of a green laser better because we are more sensitive to that nm. They all show up better in smoke -fog etc---and about this--'And it doesn't get warm at all on any body part' LOL I don't want to know about those 'other' body parts . J/K <(*U')>---(one eye gone)-don't put out yer other eye!!!!--HZ

I ordered a blu-ray and a green on the same day. The green is in but I got an e-mail from the seller that the blu-ray package was damaged in shipping and returned to them so they had to re-pack and re-ship. I have to say I LOVE the green. Just goofing around with it this evening I whipped out the little magnifying glass on my swiss army knife and fired the laser through the lens towards a pair of black plastic handled scissors sitting on my desk... SMOKE!!! The laser etches the black plastic! WOO HOO!

And another added benefit... When one of my dogs gets out of the yard it used to be nearly impossible to get her back in. Not anymore. The green laser is like a remote control. Once you have her attention with the dot she follows it at top speed and if you hold it in one basic spot she will stay right there with her nose practically on the dot. Absolutely amazing. Can't wait for my blu-ray.
