hello, this is my first post here .
....
You must look straight into the lens for something to see.
DON'T DO THAT!
Have them refund you or send a replacement.

Oh, and welcome to the LPF!

Sorry... i don't get it. You turned the pot from side to side? If so, that's probably what busted it.

Also, we're not likely to be able to help you using just pictures of the diode & driver.

And, yeah, what anselm said, don't look straight into it, working or not.

no I just want to say that it is possible to rotate.
I myself am not arrived!
but since the shipping is more expensive than the lazer
My question is whether that would matter if I turn to?

and yes thx for the welcome !

if you change batterys than you see the chip like on my picture

that looks 2 me verry strange in the first place ;)

I see on the forum from dealextreme that there were people with same problem.
could it be that the ground - is not properly soldered 2 the lazer ? and second question the pot have 3 terminals is it possible to manually connect by soldering? and yes witch 2 must be connect . last thing I think the lazer light is not broken but the chip.

If you can make a video of your laser not working and send it to Dealextreme, they should
send you a replacement or a refund.

Other than that:
Do you have a digital multimeter? You could check the driver before starting to solder on it.

To check for contact problems with the body, try to power the "head" of the laser in your
picture directly from just the battery (or a modified desktop computer PSU).
Use a wire to hook up the other pole of the battery to the blank metal of the screw.

Francais, plutot?

exactly the same. I had an external power supply for use with HD 5v and 12v 1.5 amp
I used the 5v and ground.

note I tried the 12v also for 2 sec and than it is x2 but you can see still nothing on a wall or something .
scam ! !
