FINALLY finished the dual Blu-Ray scanner project for the shows - (2) 803's in custom machined heatsinks with rckstr drivers set at 120mA, 4 scanner system (DMX controllable) in a SHINP DL22 housing...

Better pix to come (last nights show was just a "shakedown - still need to focus better, etc) but this cell capture should give an idea of how the project turned out so far, ran the unit pretty much continuous all night with no troubles - thinkin 6X diodes for the next build!

I'm going to take some macro shots of the system later today and I'll get them posted ... LMAO, nope that's not me singing (I'm more like the Wizard of Oz ... "Pay no attention to that man in the corner" at the shows)!

have you thought about just getting some 405nm pbs cubes and adding a second 405nm diode to each scanner for double the power? or even 2 6x diodes per scanner now that would be amazing!

i think i have 2 or 3 405nm pbs cubes left from laser wave.

That's a good idea - MAN the thought of 2 6x per side is CRAZY! The next project in the works though is to pull the reds out of a pair of RGY scanners I have and replace them with 6x - I've seen that effect done and the resulting mix is a crazy "sky blue" ... Gonna be a little difficult to balance the colors though as the green modules in those are 100mW so they'll probably be pretty dominant.

Heres a pic of the old setup (1 per side):

And here's the Blu-Rays - pretty simple setup, I had a pair of alloy heatsinks milled for me 12mm ID, 18.1mm OD, and 25mm long, pressed the modules in and they fit nicely in the old mounts. Being as I wasn't sure how I'd like the setup I was a little lazy and mounted the drivers outside of the modules but hey, they're hidden inside the scanner housing so "out of sight - out of mind" in my book!

Yep - That's the effect I'm looking for... I have 2 choices, I could refit a pair of scanners that are currently 100mW 535 and 220mW 630 -OR- I also have a few 50mW 535 and 100mW 630 models I could use - looks to me like I might be better off using the 120mW Blu-Rays with the 50Mw green to keep the green from overpowering the mix...

Ya know what - for the 30 minutes it'll take, I'm going to give it a shot tonight. Thanks!
