Is this DPSS?

Nope, not DPSS. Just a boost driver. The inductor is probably just on the back, we don't get to see the back in any photos.

Are there any 405nm DPSS labbies bouncing around anywhere?

I've never seen an exact 405nm DPSS labby.

I dont know that math well enough to know if it can be done.

Oh ya - and not just can be, but I know they actually did it, prior to 405nm diodes. I think they were actually 404nm. From doubled 808 maybe?

Once again I'm no pro, and my brain cells have been toast for decades. I probably absorb about 20% of what you guys talk about when it comes to specs/design/and function. Its not that I dont want to learn it, it just overwhelms the charcoal bricket thats in my skull.

Thorlabs has 404 diodes for $1650 a pop. CNI doesn't seem to have anything on their big wavelength chart thing on the left of their site. So for 404 DPSS, I'm not sure, but diodes, yeah they're out there, and doubling 808 doesn't seem too far a stretch, I have no idea what crystals and coatings you'd need though.

You've got to remember that our "405"s could be 404, 415, 399, etc. So the 404nm diodes are no biggy. I'm sure nobody bothers with 404nm DPSS at this stage. But it would be neat to know what surplus might be out there.
