Does anyone know if I can get a blue laser diode higher the 2W and for how much?

They are using only one diode for the blue lasers. The max that it can be pushed is ~2W, and its life is greatly reduced at that power.

there isnt a 3w diode but we can make a 3W laser using 2 of the 445nm diodes combined.

Wait a year or two. I think 445nm technology will be in headlights to pump phosphors to make white light. 4W diodes are on the way but not quite yet, not for consumers.

Yes, those BMW headlights better have a lot of diodes for them to be worth buying for harvesting. Pessimistic by nature, optimistic for the hell of it.

Im sure you could buy a 2 watt and run it at 3, I just hope your application doesn't require more than a minute or two of usage, or you'll be going through ALOT of diodes! :p
