Now that i have my high powered red diy laser, I want to make myself a blueray.
So i would need a bluray diode. But i just get confused by all the different diodes that are reffered here, that is why I´am asking
if someone could write a roundup of the different diodes and what they are called here and where to get them , i would be very thankful.

(I think it would be a good idea to have something like that for all other noobs who get confused by all the bluray information, too.
I´am searching for a low and a high powered diode, like 5 mW for a pointer and 100 mW for a labby style or something like that.)

Thanks for reading,

I'll give ya a list of diodes here in a sec... I'm eatin' dinner right now (yeah... its 4:50am my time... so what?  :p )

EDIT:

Ok... first, and most popular right now, is the diode that comes from the PHR-803T sled. These sleds are found in a few different drives, including the xbox HD-DVD addon, and other HD-DVD readers. Mostly people are buying these sleds directly from the manufacturer now. These are good for close to 150mW, and only around $30

next: DT0811 - this is the other sled found in the xbox 360 HD-DVD addon. Not quite as powerful as the PHR-803T diode. Good for maybe 80-100mW

Then there's what we call the '6x' diode. This diode comes from the LG GGW-H20L 6x blu-ray burner drive. This one is good for around 200mW or more, but is a bit pricey so no one has pushed them to the point of breaking.

There's also the PS3 sled (I cant remember the number) which has a blu-ray diode capable of only around 20mW.

Any blu-ray or HD-DVD device you can find out there will have a 405nm diode in it, but it's a toss up as to how powerful it is (or isn't)

Hope that helped a bit!

Yeah, that cleared things up! Thanks a bunch!
I think i will get the 803t then,
and is there one which is able of about 5 mw output or is that lower than any treshold?
