Custom Laser Hosts

Just because I have the tools I tend to build my own hosts. Both of these are a work in progress but getting there. Hex one it a 120mw bule and the one with the clear cover a 200mw red.

those are some nice host, home built huh! Ive gotta ask, Is that a ddl driver and if so can I have a list of parts and stats of volts and ma's of the driver. I built my first ddl driver this past weekend and dont think I used that many resistors in mine. Did you mod this. Thanks Mike

hey dude, do you sell hosts? if so, I am trying to make a lightsaber hilt to use a green laser modual in. if you do sell these, please let me no. it looks like you got some pretty mad skills. those hosts would look even better polished

To answer one question sorry I don't build hosts for sale.. I have a home shop with CNC and manual equipment but don't have the time to build the stuff I want let alone stuff for sale. Both of the hosts were built from solid stock and took some time. the one with the clear cover was 100% CNC so it was pretty painless. The one built out of the hex was mostly done on a manual lathe with a little CNC to do the radius on the front.
As far as the drivers go the hex one is just a Rckstar driver running and 803T diode. The one with the clear top is a Stonetek Sony red diode and the driver is sometthing I bought off EBay pre built a while back. I bought a dozen of the drivers for $5 each but don't remember who or where. I can't really speak to the design details but in general they are probably over built. The same circut can be built with one capacitor, on potentiometer and an LM 317.

Looks really nice and sci-fi to me

Great job on making everything fit, seems like a pretty tight build.

I am probably going to put a pistol grip on the hex one to get that true ray gun look.

Yeah, I am kinda thinking about buying a BB gun and installing a laser in it, would be really cool.
