Flash light hosts are good but I wanna make a custom housing out of a piece of aluminum pipe from Home Depot. Any tips on this? Not sure what switch to use or where to mount it. What are your experiences with customs hosts?

Ask PyroEric. He makes hosts out of aluminum.

I made a custom host out of 3/4 coper tubing , and many told me it kind of
looked like a pipe bomb , i took it apart one day to check mA and killed my diode
so , i went back to my project boxes for now.

I made 2 housings out of aluminum rods, that I drilled from one side to the other to make pipes. The hardest part is the threads.If you can make the threads fit you can play with the design all you like.If not, it would probably be easier to use set screws.
