I got nine(3 sets) in two orders- all great-- I put my pics up the the cheap pointer pen thread.
they ship these with no battery. I doubt the Amazon set for 20$ is worth the extra $8. why make it easier for customs by having batts and lasers in the same box-duh? free batts are generally crap anyway

ok. how overspecced have you found them to be? i read that red pointers are less likely to be overspecced.
yea can't disagree on that one but at the rate high-end lasers are getting into america i wouldn't believe that anything over 5mW are illegal if i hadn't found out for myself earlier.

They are usually in the range of 30mW but some can hit as high as 100mW though its not that common.

Planning to own a set in a while. Those should be overspec too. If you get a dud, contact the seller and kindly ask them to send you a replacement.
if only all of them were made 100mW, and also true 5mW for casual use but left to the last of the long list. wouldn't they request that you send the faulty unit back too?

Most China sellers send a new replacement with no need to return the bad one. this has happened to me a few times- I just ask nicely but firmly- letting them know i am qualified to state is was a DOA. I tell them i checked with new batteries etc.
Replacement is handled sometimes in this fashion also at AixiZ Laser and Jetlaser too.

Another tip, take a video while you unbox the package and test it. I usually do this with electronics that I buy.

Pretty much all the pen lasers are the same.. It's just about who'll let them go cheaper..
haha i don't think i'll be getting any soon, from what i just saw of the way EMS handling goes. i think at best i'll be receiving an empty tube with all the innards splattered inside a flimsy letter envelope or something like that.
