I personally would take at least 4. These are ps3 diodes with the full pin. These were not mounted into sleds.

If you are in no hurry for your diodes do that ebay seller. If you are like me and crazy impatient to get started on "ze next projekt....muahahaha" then do the Cajunlasers option. Unless I am mistaken, Cajunlasers ships from Louisiana so shipping times will be much faster than the eBay seller who will ship your item from China. IMHO 2.49 cents is an acceptable additional cost to not have to wait weeks.

Forget the sleds unless you really want the PBS in there. What's cheaper than those diodes is to just go buy those $4.50 "5mW" pens off Amazon.com or eBay. You even get a driver of some sorts with it.

Bionic, do you know what type of diode they use for it? If it is a good one it might be worth it to harvest pens instead of sleds haha.

I believe its a shitty diode. Just ripped my ebay pen apart yesterday and broke the soldered leads free. much more efficient diodes come from sleds i would think.

I have two of those cheap qq tech 405's. They only hit (estimated no lpm) 60-80 mw. They are awesome to play with but I know those diodes are junk compared to the sleds.

Did anyone look at the second link I posted? $0.10 - $0.30 a sled, min order of 5.
