Please understand that I consider this to be a hobby for my scientific cravings. Unlike many people in the world, Profit is not my driving force.
Understand that any science can be used for bad purposes and I presume that our democratic government is watching us. I will not sell any potentially damaging piece of this science to some unknown person here or in my local community unless I know that they are responsible. You are a new member here -- I don't know you and now for damn sure don't want to know you.

Understood. I can see where your coming from. I will buy a nice violet burner from somebody, or some company sometime in the future. No reason it has to be from you.

BTW, check my registration. I have been a member here since January of 2007 Although, your right, I am still a 'noob' to this community. Since I had rarely ever go here cause the LC was my main source of laser discussion before they turned all Nazi on us.

Just to put my 2 cents in here... I am fairly new to this community as well. In fact, new to lasers! This forum is my 'home town'. First, welcome to LPF. I have found out that there is a wealth of knowledge in the threads here. I'll bet everything has been covered several times over! But the best part, is how helpful people are. There are a certain few, who are exceptionally knowledgeable. Hemlock Mike is one of them. (IMO) I like how great it is to learn how to build! I have bought several high powered lasers. Spent an arm and a leg too! But there is something about building one! My favorite ones, are the ones that I built myself! Of course, I couldn't have done it without the help that I have received right here on this great forum... Speaking of new to the forum, there are some new developments in building lasers. And it sure feels good to be right in the middle of the Blu-Ray Burner explosion! Awesome...

So you are calling those of us that have a love for this hobby losers? You have a lot to learn, keep it up and you will not be around here for very long. I feel you owe this community an apology for making that statement.

I could turn out 300mw red lasers and easily sell them but I choose not to do so. Does that make me a looser? Or the fact that I have spent hundreds of dollars learning how to DIY because I wanted to? This is a hobby for me...nothing more and nothing less. I suppose people that are in other hobbies such as R/C are losers too...according to you.

people build these for own fun, to show people that i got a powerful laser and you dont(not really), but if mike built you a laser and burnt out a diode thats 300$ down the toilet. We are NOT losers this is a hobby, we LIKE doing no one says we have to its not like all we do day and night is play with lasers. if were all hobby losers then take your ass back to LC.

u guys are so impressive, hopefully the price on the babies will come down like the reds have, which wont happen so extremely in the next year, but hopefully a 15% decrease? that wud be nice , mybe then, i would take the chance to make one ;D
