well I usally take my batteries out when I'm not useing it but then I decided that I would use it,it had only been like10 mind the last time I used it. As in screwing the lid onto my sonar burner, modified 146mW,but I'm not sure the exact diode......anyways as I'm screwing it on I push the button as I'm spinning the lid,it shines for about 1 second than stops! I wasn't too worries because I thought I cud just take them out then it them back in....did that....nothing.

I looked down into the lens, yes I no I shouldn't have. But I can see a very faint light, kinda flashing, not even enough to show up on a surface.

I think I may of fried the diode somehow.
Yes I had the batteries I'm correctly

thanks

First try replacing the batteries with new ones.  This is always the first step with a flexdrive.

However, it sounds like something shorted or had an intermittent connection while you were screwing in the top.  That dim light is pretty indicative of a blown diode.

If new batteries doesn't fix it, ship it back.  I'll fix it for the cost of the parts.

Peace,

Darn! Ship it back. I'll get it turned around as quickly as I can. I don't think we can make it by Christmas though.

Yea tell me about it with everyones Christmas packages!
What parts r needed and how much? Is there anyway to maybe get a slightly more powerfull diode or so
Ething like that? Just kinda wanted to kno!

There are three options.  I will replace the diode for the cost of the diode plus shipping.

The PHR diodes I have in stock cost me $17.

I have one more 4X diode here.  We can switch it to the 4X.  The 4X is more stable than the PHR, but is not going to give you much more power.  The 4X diode cost me $45

The last option is that the 6X's look like they are going to be available very soon.  If you are willing to wait a couple of weeks, we can replace it with a 6X.  The 6X will be more powerful.  It looks like the 6X's are going to be around $70.

well I'll most likely get the phr, 4x or even the 6x

Depending on what Santa brings

But possibly a 4x if my "budget" is the same after Christmas, after all as take might bring some money;)

Well, Christmas is only one week away ;) Go ahead and ship it to me. I'll get it opened and waiting for your decision. That way you will get it back the fastest. You can also save a couple of bucks because there will be no hurry getting it to me. You can ship it to me first class instead of priority.

ok I'll hopefully get it out in the next couple days, gotta get my mom or someone to take me to post office( lol wow I prolly sound like 12).

Do u have a gues about the mW gain with each diffrent diode?

OH and I promise it WILL NOT be a check this time lol

LOL! We've got to do what we've got to do. You don't sound like you're 12. You sound like you're taking care of business.

The PHR is what is in it now so no output gain. We can probably get another 10-20mW out of the 4X (depending on the diode). We can get about another 40-50mW out of the 6X.
