So im in the process of getting all my part together for the pocket mini build im putting together. Im presently looking at batteries, specifically rcr123a however im quite disappointed at the mah these batteries put out.

The highest mah batteries i could find come from china and are only 1000mah. Coming from the RC world i was quite accustomed to 2000mah to 4000mah plus with some nice lipo packs. Now i know this is only one cell but is that the best mah rating im going to find?

Also how much use will one charge of a 1000mah or more commonly found 700mah give running a GGW in the 200w range? Better yet give me a way to calculate it myself and stop myself from asking dumb questions >.<

Thanks in advance :)

I recognize this isnt the best place for this post. Perhaps general would be better?

Don't worry as much about 'stated capacity', as the reputation of quality...

UltraFire are common, but I can tell you that some fit kind of 'snug' in the Pocket Mini host. But if you have 2 or 3 of them, you will get one that fits.

The best rechargeable RCR123 is from AW: (fits perfectly too)

Haha, telling an ex radio control guy not to worry about the capacity is like trying to get a pilot to fly without a fuel gauge 0.o

Alright so i guess ill grab a couple of those batteries. Know if there the 3.7/4.2 batteries or just the 3v'ers? Would like to reuse my rc lipo/liion charger if possible :D

Jay --

Have you ever found 18650 cells willing to output 12 AMPS for a few seconds at a time?

They are 3.6/4.2...

Notice that I said 'stated' capacity. The cheap batteries are never what they claim...

Go with AW if you want the best.

Mike, I would never even think that was possible! But the rule of thumb is, that a 2C discharge rate is max for a Li-Ion. (for battery health)

They make LiPo's that are meant for high discharge, but I don't think an 18650. Not that I know of anyway...
