Bdr 206 mini burner

I'm bored
I have this mini flashlight that cost $35 so I pulled it apart
Machined a heatsink on the drill press, I have a bunch of brass
Modules that have thread for the back end of a module on the front
Instead of the back, looks stupid so I filled them off to make the
Module flat with the front of the sink,
So now a lense sticks out 3/4 out the front, when I have time I'll cut
Down a single element lens to fit nice.

I had another Nano driver, I love these drivers set to 500ma
This host takes a 14500 battery but I don't have any IMRs on hand
So a cheapo will do for now,

Another $25 BDR 206 3.8mm diode and a great Mini Burner is born

These diodes are awesome I just love this purple beam even with
a 3 element lens.

Nice little burner you got there badboy, those are a good little host for an edc sized unit.
I just finished a 520nm in that very same host; I'll have post some pics pretty soon.

Hi BBB,
Nice 209 i like them also can't beat that small dot profile these diodes put out. I have 2 sleds in stock for a while now, well i guess i'll put out a pen build soon. Thats great work you do nice and clean some times i get bored to and build anything thats possible that laying around.nice beam shots too. Well done Pal..

It burns very well more than enough power for that size host,

My Sigelli build here is using the 16x BDR 209

I've lost too many to push them, the Nano driver at 500ma works
Brilliantly with both 12x, and the 16x,
The beam is clearly visible on all 3 and burn fantastically.

If these Nano,s would go higher I would but not other drivers!

Can sure understand the reluctance to push them with first hand experience. I really think they should have made the 209 a 5.6mm. Pretty odd that the 12x is the larger one.
Not sure how I missed this build. Looks good. +REP

On the pioneer 16x BDR 209 I wouldn't go more than 750ma they are 3.8mm, they get warm fast, but I'm sure some push them more they won't last long. I had one at 700ma with a Xboost it lasted 2 months, and another the same lasted 2 min.

DTR has testing on most of popular diodes you should check his web page out.

I just got another Cree from DX and done some swapping around with my mini burner and turned out looking even better. Pic attached!
