405 is cool , the red from o-like is nice

405 is not so visible as the red laser cuz it's near UV

both are good lasers but for a good visible beam you need to go for the red 1

Personally I find that 405nm is more visible that 650nm... meaning to be violet/purple is more visible than the dark red - which is what the second laser will be.

You will have a lot more fun with the the 405nm, it will burn better and also the specular reflection (reflection off of not normally reflective surfaces) will act as something of a blacklight.

If you have a little more money get this laser: LZMG - 405nm 400mW Violet Laser Pointer Water Proof

or the 400mW from o-like. They are essentially the same. Lazerer.com is just a never company, and so far I have yet to hear a bad thing about them.

Lastly a word of caution...

YOU NEED SAFETY GOGGLES TO DO BURNING EXPERIMENT WITH THESE LASERS. Sorry about the caps, but you only get two eyes... don't try to save money by skimping on safety. Personally I recommend these: Eagle Pair® 190-540nm Standard Laser Safety Goggles

The first line in lazerer's FAQ regarding shipping is:

To let every customer to enjoy shopping at iy more.

is it just me or does this not make any sence??

So u think the one from lazerer is the best choice.?

I dont really care about the beam itself..., just the burning and the dot..

also, am i correct when saying lazerer doesnt have any protective glasses for 405 lasers?

Thanks so far.!

How is 445nm compared to 405nm, burning wise, etc, all aspects

They DO have 445 glasses, wich also filter 532(my green laser)

But its a 1W laser, for 140$..

How come the price is so "cheap" for a 1W laser?

Thanks

FYI Shenzhen Keyuan CO.,LTD. sells a 500mW 405nm lasers for $100, and 1000mW 450nm for $124

my 405nm was measured stable at 501mW

they have a good customer service, good price and good quality laser. the laser's host is really nice and have all safety feature

good luck

here you are:

  • With a same power, a 445nm is more visible than 405nm.
  • A 445nm is a rich blue while a 405nm is a violet.
  • Usually, every high powered 445nm laser have a rectangular beam while a 405nm have a round beam.

it's hard to explain what the beam looks like. please searching this forums, many pictures around here.

Like that?

wich would u all reccomend?

The 405 is cheaper, less powered(400mw), and cant buy glasses in the same shop as the laser
the 445 is more expensive(+$30), more powerfull(1000mw), but i can buy glasses from the same store..

What would u do, and why?

i just dont want to order a laser, and not be able to play with it while waiting another few weeks to recieve the glasses, coming from a different shop..

So i guess ill prolly go for the 405 from lazerer, then get glasses from somewhere else, then hope they arrive at roughly the same time..

Anyone here form Belgium, Netherlands, Or maybe Germany, that has ordered form lazerer?

Can i look at the dot without glasses? or will this damage my eyes to..?

yeah, its close to oval.

if i were you, i'll start with 445nm because of:
-445nm more visible than 405nm. if you turn it at night, you likely own a lightsaber :D
-you can easily burn something (not recommended)

you also can buy a 445nm from member here (IDK who. and of course the price is lower than you buy from a company out there.
