Or on the other hand.....
This could be "THE" guy that all the sleds come from in the first place.
It would be nice if somebody is familiar with the address.

jinpenglaser@yahoo.com.cn

I would be suspicious if he wanted to pass out only a few for testing, and was mostly interested in group buy type money. We'll wait to see what he tells Jakob about the one being tested. If he says its only like a PHR or 4X or even less, I will believe easier. If he comes back with 250 mW and gets 6x's back in stock, and then wants big orders :(

But it would be way way nice if this is real.

Jakob was not the only one to get that email (those emails!). Like you, I asked for a sample. What I was wondering is if Amir really exists - it would be an interesting idea, for him to "send it to an expert", and get back some staggering results... Then to disappear without a trace, keeping all of our money.... Is Amir someone on another site (CPF, PL, etc)?

Ohhh... I remember that guy...

Thats a JIN PENG website. And a JIN PENG email address. He posted 73 times in a week, and has not posted since. Now this is a different email address. A yahoo account. Maybe the same guy. Maybe not.

And pseudolobster, please change your avatar. If I happen to look at it, I become mesmerized and can waste considerable amounts of time. LOL Just kidding. I love it. I think I'll look at now for awhile :)

I get the impression he posted more than 73 times, I think c0ld ended up deleting a whole bunch of his posts. He made all those posts within a few hours. Completely took over the forum with his spam.

At those prices, who cares about the middleman.

I got the same email from JP.  But I wont contact him.  Demand drives up prices

BUT this may be a scam

Established in 2001, Jin Peng Electronic Trade Co.Ltd. is a diversified enterprise integrating wholesales, manufacture and import and export of household electrical appliance accessories and video and audio products. Upholding the concept of “surviving with quality”, it has been trusted and praised by clients at home and abroad since its imbark. Products it deals in include: CD, LD, VCD, DVD, Game devices, XBOX360, XBOX, PSP, PS1, PS2, PS3, auto-audio laser pick-up heads as well as various laser heads and accessories

Why does a big company need to use a yahoo mail account.  Could be real if he is a employee doing "side deals".  Could be a scammer posing as a Jin Peng salesman or representative.

The PHR-803T is less expensive than the DT-8011... Huh Huh Huh Huh
but no prices for the BDP4... guess they're waiting for the power results to price them... Tongue

Jerry

Yeah, he said he sent the sleds to a guy named Amir in Sacramento California to test. He said he'll have the results in about 5 days or so.

LPC is $5.50! that's the cheapest I've seen.

Devin.

Yeah... this guy actually has some pretty good prices. Too bad he doesn't accept PayPal... just bank transfer and Western Union.

-Jakob

Sorry, the paypal are trouble and bank charges are very high. paypal account to our Bank of China, bank charges need USD 40. :( :(

I have to wonder though how this guy has been able to come up with such a wide range of sleds... maybe we can figure out how he gets them so we can bypass the middle man? What if hes getting them all from the U.S.? You have to at least wonder since his prices are sooo lowww.

Maybe there is no middle man… this guy MIGHT be the one who takes the sleds straight off the assembly line, right? Or maybe one of his friends? Who knows.

Geeez.... It is beyond me...
This is the lowest we've seen these prices at.... and still it's not low enough for some guys...

It sure is low enough for me :)! `Cept he doesn’t take PayPal :(

I really hope that this is not a scam. I have heard of some pretty big companies using yahoo mail. I think budgetgadgets might be one of them, and they sell almost everything!

I call SCAM.....but hope im wrong He probably wont take paypal b/c it can be traced back to him..or b/c they take that % at the end

Nooo… be optimistic! But actually, you bring up a good point about not taking PayPal… he said something about it not being trustworthy or reliable and that’s supposedly why he doesn’t use it.

Or on the other hand.....

That’s exactly what I’m thinking. Maybe he’s the guy who takes the sleds straight outta’ the factory. And the address you list is the one that he emailed me from. According to him, Amir is the only person he sent the sample sleds to. I don’t even have a clue who that is, so it’s not that reliable of a source… but if he says that they are 8x sleds with high-powered diodes, we should have him ship one or two of them to Dave or Jayrob or somebody with an LPM for testing… since none of us know Amir, it is not a good enough reference to have.

Ohhh... I remember that guy... He had an account here and went around spamming everyone, digging up threads from 3 years ago and posting links to his site. The entire front page of some forums was nothing but post after post after post of his spam.

Check it out: http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?action=viewprofile;username=jin penglaser

This cannot be good. He spammed so much!!! I hope this doesn’t have anything to do with him also being a scammer… If he is willing to spam so much, he must not be that ashamed of scamming people. I hope this isn’t true.

Jakob was not the only one to get that email (those emails!). Like you, I asked for a sample. Did you also ask him about testing and did he say Amir was an expert?! He told me he will have power results when Amir Karshalhskov (some crazy last name like that) is done testing them in 5 days. This seems fishy to me. We need to find Amir, if he exists, which I think he does.

Thats a JIN PENG website.  And a JIN PENG email address.  He posted 73 times in a week, and has not posted since.  Now this is a different email address.  A yahoo account.  Maybe the same guy.  Maybe not.

Also, very freakin’ fishy.

Guys, guys! Amir is Amkdeath...

I’ll drop him a message. Thanks for speaking up, I was getting pretty worried.

Everybody makes mistakes buddy. Just try not to spam again. I think that is what pisses everybody in the forum off the most, aside from scamming and typing in capital letters ;D.

Sorry, the paypal are trouble and bank charges are very high. paypal account to our Bank of China, bank charges need USD 40.

That’s a lot of money for a bank transfer. Do you think that you could accept PayPal if we did orders in bulk?

P.S. Sorry for the extremely late response to everybody!

I don't see anything thats really screams no, yet. It would be nice if Jack was a reliable supplier for all those various sleds. Really nice if that 8x comes thru...

And Amkdeath is a member I'm not familiar with, but he has been rep+1 by some prominent members. I think I could trust what he might say.

But at these prices, the only drawback is that some or our friends here, nice enough to buy and resell, might be stuck with some sleds at a loss. So if I can get a sled from Alabama I will. Even if it costs more. I don't need enough sleds to make it matter if its $12, or $6.

I'm wondering if it is 2008 or 2006... it's hard to see...
My reasoning is this... normally revision numbers increase... :-?

For the same model #BDP4.....

the 2007 Rev number is 2.4 - S

the 2006/8 Rev number is 2.2

Jerry

The number could be an ''8''.

The first sled is a BDP3 series.

Looking at the other ''6'' numbers on the sled,

I would think the ''BDP4'' is more likely an ''8''.
