I noticed that some of the 8x 405nm or creeping into the horizon. BDR-203BK sleds!

How much ?
How is there quality?
What mA, I'm guessing the threshold would be 220mA for starters.

anyhow I'm going to get one to slap in a unit for giggles ;D what is next for the blue ray faction. Stay tuned.

heh....dangiun paid over $200 for his sled....all in the name of knowledge ;) such a sweet guy ;)

yea that's all well and good but the 8x will be offerd as for sleds by weeks end. I'm wondering
all the above posted mA quality worth the money ect...... ;)

Don't just "wonder."  Buy one and test it  :)

It's one of the few ways we get to learn about what is available

220mA for threshold ?

I have a 6x and threshold was like 35mA. I have a PHR and it was like 33mA, and it moved up a little after some use at 106mA. I never rechecked the 6x to see if it moved.

Well assuming the (hypothetical)max is 220mA for long life then I don't think it would be worth much more than the 6x.

before i purchase this, has anyone received theirs and extracted diode yet? is it an 8x or a 6x with better optics etc.?

I spent $1,000 on the first 6x's -- where's the rest of you experimenters?

Ah yea.........
$1000.00 I'm not there yet ,thanks anyway. I said it in a manner where the sleds were going to be avaliable.

I would not ask the suggested mA if I were an experimenter, besides I don't have a laserbee or anything so why would I suggest doing this :p I just wanted to kow a starting point, Thanks in advanced.
