I had to learn that the hard way, while organizing the first (real) GGW GB, remember?

They said those were the last there are, and that we had to decide IMMEDIATELLY. I suspected that a week later they will be selling to someone else, but they said no, they don't have more.

Only that one week later, they unexpectedly GOT MORE.. And sold.. Well at least everyone finally got to buy them in the end!

I had even worse experiences with the PHRs! I would buy a huge batch at $24 or so a piece, two weeks later the price was $13! :cryyy:

I lost so much money on similar Chinese tactics, that if it was real money (as opposed to PayPal), i'd probably shoot myself! :gun:

unfortunately i only have lots of red numbers in my paypal in a row, from only sending and not receiving imaginary money. ..and the exchange rate is 1:1 too.. ;-)

Well, it's good and it's bad at the same time..

It's good, cos it doesn't hurt too bad, if i lose it on a scam or something (like all the fake diodes i tested).

It's bad, cos i earn it with a lot of work, but can't do much with it offline.. You know - in that thing called real life?

I hope they make PP work normally in Slovenia soon, for now it's a one way road - i can put money in, but not get it out again.

The two forum donated 8x diodez are HERE!!!!

EDIT: Ah, i see now, you sent them on the 29th! Everything makes sense again, it was just lack of sleep.. :yabbem:

EDIT 2: I will plot the first three now (over the weekend), but before the experiment can start, i also have to wait for the other 10 from the mini-GB, to make sure i select the lowest efficiencies...

LOL! I already had one diode here. You and I were already talking about you buying that one for your personal use to build your own 8X laser. It just switched over to being paid for by the members to be MURDERED.

As soon as I was confident that the members were going to step up with their donations, I jumped right on the net and found the second. It was from a source less than 30 miles from me, so I picked it up the next day.

So the fund raiser was done in the evening and the diodes were in the post the next afternoon.

Now, have you thought about testing the ""S03's"" while you are waiting for the rest of the diodes from the mini GB?

Also, I am still waiting on the answer to whether you want me to send you the other two LG 8X diodes I will have in my possession when I send the rest of the diodes from the GB or if you will feel you have enough?

And you are right, i will start the testing with the "S03's" while waiting, just to calm my nerves, and warm up the cycler... :evil:

Otherwise, i feel 13 is enough of a test-pool to select the weakest two out of....
Only if you were worried one of the two of your new ones was weaker than the "murder-weaklings", would sending them over make sense...

You can do a quick (five step) plot yourself, if they seem normal or better, there is no point in sending them!

In that case i am starting now with the F03 diodes, to get a feeling for it, so i wont be nervous when it comes to real 8x's... :yabbem:

I'll be posting "S03" data in the "Possible 8x sled...." thread, as i collect it...
Altho i am considering some sleep for tonight... :undecided:

I discovered, that as i get older, every once in a while, i do actually have to sleep... :yabbem:

Another thing i noticed... When i started making my lasers, i could still read the numbers on the tiny SMD resistors on my drivers! But now.... :undecided:

Ahem, so, someone said sleep was overrated, so i did this instead... :angel:

Looks like we have our first murder candidate plotted. The other two are installed in modules too, but i haven't touched them yet...

So far i will only say, that the Vf tracked with the Pioneer diode almost spot-on, while the efficiency was clearly quite a bit lower than the first 203BK i've tested.

But the results are consistent with what i've seen elsewhere on the forum when it came to LG 8x's....
